Meet Robyn Harrison

Robyn’s interest in yoga began in the late 1980’s when a friend recommended she read “Light On Yoga” by BKS Iyengar. She was immediately fascinated and after a brief search, she located the Iyengar Yoga Center of Los Angeles (now IYILA) and began studying and practicing in earnest. Robyn began teaching yoga in the Iyengar tradition in 2004. She is a graduate of Iyengar Yoga Association of Los Angeles Teacher Training Program. She is currently certified (CIYT) Intermediate Junior-Level 2. Robyn completed a three Iyengar Yoga Therapeutic Training Program and she is certified by the International Association for Yoga Therapy (C-IAYT). In addition, she registered with Yoga Alliance (E-RYT-500).

Robyn studied under the guidance of B.K.S Iyengar at Yoga ’90 in San Diego, California and in Estes Park, Colorado, in 2005. Robyn had the good fortune to study with Dr. Geeta S. Iyengar at the Iyengar National Conventions in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2007 and Portland, Oregon in 2010. Robyn traveled to India to study with the Iyengar family in 2008 and again in 2014. She continues to study with senior teachers locally, as well as with the Iyengar family and other senior teachers at national conventions. Robyn served on the Board of Directors of the Iyengar Yoga Association of Southern California (IYASC) and on the IYNAUS Ethics Committee.

Iyengar yoga brings health, serenity and stability. Robyn is a dedicated and enthusiastic practitioner and is inspired to share her love for Iyengar yoga with others.

Robyn holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Counseling and a Pupil Services/Counseling Credential. Through the UCLA Community Based Learning Program, Robyn worked in a variety of public service settings including public high schools, community colleges, non-profit organizations. She continues to work with young people in the under-served communities.

Robyn teaches public and private yoga classes throughout Los Angeles. She resides with her two-legged and four- legged family members in Sherman Oaks, CA.
